A Gift of Property

The Hospital Foundation is able to accept gifts of property, whether it is commercial, residential or recreational in nature. Often, individuals offer their home or cottage as a gift to the Hospital while they are still living, with the provision that the family may use the property until their death.

The Hospital also welcomes gifts of artwork, equipment, stocks and bonds or similar assets. An income tax receipt can be offered for the fair market value of the property or asset. Often this is used to avoid or offset capital gains taxation.
