Our Donor Wall
With gratitude, the Foundation seeks to honour all individuals, corporations, service clubs, community organizations and philanthropic foundations that have made and will make monetary and/or gift-in-kind donations to the Foundation. Donations made in memory recognize with honour, the name of a loved one who has died.
As a permanent symbol of donations made to the Foundation, a new uniquely beautiful donor recognition system has been installed in the main lobby of the Ridge Meadows Hospital. The donations represent the accumulated total of donations over $1,000 made since computerization in 1989. There are two donor walls – one recognizing general donations to the Foundation, and the other honouring those who made planned gifts or were memorialized. Also included in the display, is a Book of Honour including the names of all those who have had gifts made in tribute to their lives, or honouring a person on a special occasion – birthday, retirement or anniversary.
In efforts to reflect the unique origins of our communities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, the designers have incorporated symbols of the earliest industries of this community, agriculture and forestry. The background is crafted from BC cedar with the five levels of giving signified by different species of trees and shrubs:
- The willow leaf forms the foundation of our forests and represents a $1,000 donation
- Each holly leaf signifies a donation of $5,000 to brighten the lives of patients and their families
- A symbol of resilience, the aspen leaf, represents a $10,000 gift
- Each oak leaf marks a donation of $50,000 to honour the strength of our forefathers
- The beautiful maple leaf represents donations of more than $100,000
The Foundation donor walls will be an ongoing recognition of giving and will be updated yearly with future donations.
